Mother’s Day always makes us feel a little nostalgic. Whether we reminisce on the first time we felt our baby kick in the womb, or the hours we spent singing to them and snuggling – it’s a time for us to pause and recognise how far we’ve come in our own unique journey to motherhood.
It also makes us think of our own mothers, grandmothers, and role models in life. We often feel blessed, that when we share this journey with you, we are also sharing it with your past and future generations.
“This rocking chair in my daughter's nursery is my great-great-grandmother's chair from the 1800s. She had ten children (yes, 10!), so I imagine many hours were spent nursing in this chair. It's so special to continue using such a special family heirloom to nurse my daughter.
For Mother's Day, I plan to continue the tradition of how I always spent it with my mum. My dad would always take us out early in the morning to the local bakery to pick up treats for breakfast. Now I'm a mum, I realise this was probably a ploy to get us out of the house and give mum her real gift of a morning in peace and quiet!” – Samantha x
