Mildew seems to be a recurring problem for Ripe
So I’m disappointed to have to leave a negative review because I actually do really like Ripe denim - seems to be the only brand that suits/fits my body type well (I have the midnight blue jeggings as well).
Unfortunately 2/3 pairs of pants I have bought through Ripe reek of mildew. My error not sending them back when I initially received them - I thought I would be able to wash the smell out of them but even after >5 washes the smell persists. It’s not subtle. And this was in two separate purchases / shipments so it appears not to be an isolated event.
Overwhelming smell aside, these jeans fit well. The belly band does appear to be a bit shorter than my other pair of denim but this is not a deal breaker.
Unfortunately I think I’m going to have to throw these (+ my other) jeans out.
I think any future purchases would have to be made in store to ensure they pass a sniff test.
